History of Farus
"Farus" is a Brazilian company that produced the same cars from 1979 to 1990. It was founded for this purpose the company "Industria de Veiculos Esportivos LTDA" in the city of Belo Horizonte. Part of the car was to be sold in the United States, however, export company failed.
In 1987 "Farus" presented at the new York auto show is the cabriolet version of its model Beta/Spider, released three years prior to this. The machine had a 2.2-liter engine Chrysler Turbo I". The company has received pre-orders for 1,500 cars, however, to start the production required a greater investment, and the project was cancelled.
In General, mark "Farus" was not very suited to market conditions. She collapsed between 1990 and 1992, unable to compete with imported cars that came into the country after the government of Fernando Collor lifted the ban on their supply.
