According to sources, it will be a powerful 1.6-liter GDI petrol engine driving the front axle, in combination with an electric motor placed on the rear axle. The total power of the motors should be approximately 246 HP is About the same setup and was on the provo concept shown at the Geneva motor show in March this year.
In addition, Kia said that if Niro will go into serial production, it will be available effective 1-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
The exterior of the Kia Niro is normal for concept and eccentric for serial machines. According to the chief designer Gregory Guillaume, the car was inspired by the Porsche 959, the winning rally "Paris-Dakar" in the 80-ies.
