Mercedes Benz Has Introduced A New Hybrid Model
New Mercedes C350 plug-in hybrid, presented at the motor show in Detroit, is equipped with a four cylinder engine. However, the dynamics of novelty will easily compete with other models with V-shaped "six", and on the economy generally ready to lay all no blades.
Rechargeable hybrid C-class was the second model after the flagship S-class in a new hybrid family of brands, which in the future will consist of nine models. In addition, this is the first rechargeable hybrid from Mercedes with four-cylinder engine.
We are talking about gasoline 2-liter "turbochargers", which is the basis of the power plant. Engine develops power of 211 horsepower and is paired with an 80-horsepower electric motor which is powered by Li-ion batteries. Together this Duo produces almost 600 Nm of torque and accelerates the sedan to hundreds in just 5.9 seconds (the wagon version of this figure is slightly worse - for 6.2 seconds). Maximum speed is up to 250 kilometers per hour.
Fuel consumption in combined cycle is only 2.1 liters per 100 kilometers, and only one electric car is able to overcome the 31 kilometer. On a full charge battery goes from 105 to 120 minutes depending on the power charger installation.
The hybrid propulsion slightly affected the useful volume of the Luggage compartment: in the case of sedan the battery block has a mass of 100 kg consumes 15 liters of storage space, in the case of universal - 30 litres.
The company will begin taking orders for the hybrid C-Class immediately after the motor show in Detroit, and the first cars will be available to buyers in the spring.
